HaHamisha Forest

KKL-JNF began planting HaHamisha Forest back in the 1930s. Part of the forest is dedicated to the Teachers' Union and has many recreation areas and monuments related to education, including one memorial to Janusz Korczak and another to teachers who fell in Israeli wars. In the elevated places in the forest, you can find miniature fortresses – small concrete structures that served as defensive positions for the Ma'ale HaHamisha and Kiryat Anavim kibbutzim. A marked hiking trail passes through the forest and descends to the military cemetery of Kiryat Anavim. Ein Nekofa Spring flows elsewhere in the forest and has a large mulberry tree right next to it.

Directions: Drive from Ma'ale HaHamisha towards Mount Adar (Route 425) and about half a km past the Marcel Luria Scenic Lookout, turn right onto a dirt road marked in red.
