The Arava Recreation Areas on Route 90 (Arava Highway)

Arava Highway Recreation Area: about 18 km south of Arava Junction, between Km markers 165 and 166, west of the road. Suitable for those traveling south. The recreation area has picnic tables, metal awnings, and a garbage can.
 
Shita BaMidbar Recreation Area: a recreation area with picnic tables and little shade, about 3.5 km south of the entrance to Hatzeva. West of the highway, suitable for those driving south.
 
Atzei Shittim Recreation Area: picnic tables, some of them equipped with an awning, about 3.5 km south of the entrance to Hatzeva, between Km markers 151 and 152. Beautiful acacia (shittim) trees grow in the recreation area, which is located on the eastern side of the Arava Highway (opposite the Shita Bamidbar recreation area) and is suitable for those driving north on the highway.
 
Nahal Omer Recreation Area: located at the entrance to the Incense Road, which is known by its walls that are covered with bright red plaster. The small recreation area has two picnic tables shaded by a beautiful acacia tree. About 8 km south of the entrance to the Sapir Center, between Km markers 129 and 130. The recreation area is located about 100 m west of the Arava Highway and is suitable for those driving south.
 
Tzukim Recreation Area: Three spacious awnings surrounded by ornamental trees, each one containing two picnic tables. There are also additional tables, ecological restrooms and drinking water at the site. Next to the recreation area is a memorial to Tamir Nabwani, a Druze fighter from the General Staff Reconnaissance Unit. It is about half a km south of the entrance to the village of Tzukim, on the eastern side of the Arava Highway. Suitable for travelers going north.
