Marcel Luria Scenic Lookout

Hebrew name: Mitzpor Marcel Luria

Location: Jerusalem Mountains

Description: The observation deck is covered with a pergola and overlooks Abu Gosh and Highway 1, on the way to the western neighborhoods of Jerusalem. The Castel, Tel Tzuba and the Aminadav Ridge can be seen clearly from here. In the distance, Gush Etzion can be seen. The plaza near the scenic lookout provides a safe place to park.
The scenic lookout is a masterpiece which has made the best of a potential problem. The building of a road resulted in a surplus of dirt. KKL-JNF and the National Roads Company of Israel (MAATZ) used this surplus dirt to build an observation deck that is accessible to the disabled. The scenic lookout is named after Marcel Luria, who served as the KKL Belgium president and who funded this project.

Directions: The scenic lookout is situated on the road to Har Adar, 500 meters east of the intersection of the original road leading up from Kiryat Anavim with Route 425.
