David Karon Scenic Lookout

Hebrew name: Mitzpor David Karon

Location:
Haruvit Forest, near Kfar Menahem

Description: The observation deck atop Hurvat Dimdumit (Hirbat Damdam) in Haruvit Forest overlooks Kibbutz Kfar Menahem and the expanses of the Coastal Plain from the Ashkelon shore to Rishon LeZion. In the east, the villages of the Ha’ela Valley, British Park, Gush Etzion and the ridge of Hebron Mountains can be seen. At the Hurva, there are remains of ancient quarries and a few garden trees. The observation tower commemorates Lieutenant Colonel David Karon, member of Kibbutz Kfar Menahem and founder of the Intelligence 10 Unit. The site also serves as a memorial for the unit’s fallen soldiers.
