Giva'ati Recreation Area – Closure Due to Safety Hazards

The Giva'ati Recreation Area in the Komemiyut Forest (road 35), near the Yoav citadel, is closed for visitors due to safety hazards. The recreation area will remain locked until the safety hazard are removed.

Nahal Hayun Recreation Area Closure

The Nahal Hayun recreation area is closed until further notice due to flood damage.

Dudaim Forest

1. As of April 2022, overnight camping at the Helmoniyot Car Park – at the east Lehavim area – is forbidden. Navigation from the Helmoniyot Car Park to the Goral Hills is also forbidden.
2. Navigation at the Goral hills is allowed from the black surface only. Overnight camping is also allowed at the black surface only. Overnight camping at the nearby grove is forbidden.

Lahav Forest

1. Due to hazards caused by bikers, vehicle roads within the forest are blocked until further notice.
2. The entrance to Ein Rimon from the roundabout on Road 6 is closed.

KKL-JNF Nursery in Gilat is closed to the Public

The nursery is closed to the public until further notice, due to revision in visitors' policy.

Nahal Shikma – Avoid Using the Matzaim Path along the River

Until further notice, driving and walking the Matzaim path from the Kibbutz Dvir area, which leads westwards toward road 40, are forbidden due to rain damages. While the path is not blocked, hazards are clearly marked.

Sapir Park

Sapir park is open for visitors, and overnight camping is allowed. Call council member Shimon at 052-6170271 for overnight camping registration.

Ofakim Park

Restrooms in the park are closed until further notice.

Haro'eh Recreation Area

Due to a safety hazard, arrival at the area is allowed only during daytime hours. Overnight activity and stay are forbidden.

Golda Park - Closure of the Restrooms

The restrooms at the park are closed til further notice.

Horbat Tzelit - Warning

Horbat Tzelit (Hirbet a-Tzelenta), located at the Meitar forest next to the 4X4 path marked in blue. The Horbat Tzelit site is extremely dangerous, and visiting it is forbidden!

Dvira Forest

1. As of 9.3.2025, the Teva Recreation Area is closed for visitors until further notice.
2. As of January 2025, there is no water available in the area.

Hodaya Winter Pool in Karmon Forest

Due to safety hazards, the Hodaya Winter Pool site (accessible trail + balcony that overlooks the pool) is closed until further notice.

Western Negev

All sites at the western Negev are now open to the public, including cycling tracks, other than the Shimriya Sovev-Ofakim track which remains closed.

Nahal Asaf Forest Road

The Nahal Asaf Forest Road is closed to the public due to paving and subbase works.

Yatir Forest

Travelers to Yatir Forest on Route 316 from South to north should note – the entrance to the Yigal Campsite and the Devorah Campsite has a continuous separation line.

Ben Gurion Park

As of December 2024, development works are being carried out in Ben Gurion Park. Some of the camping parks are closed to ensure the visitors' safety.

Sayeret Shaked Park

The Sayeret Shaked Park is closed to visitors, due to development works performed in the area.

Yeruham Park

Pruning works and renewal of the irrigation system in Yeruham Park. Some of the camping parks will be closed to visitors.
