The Gan Siyabonga Project in Telmond is a tribute to a group of South African Jews who courageously stood for justice and solidarity during the struggle against Apartheid and also contributed to building and supporting the State of Israel.

The name "Siyabonga," Zulu in origin meaning "thank you," reflects deep gratitude for their unwavering commitment. The memorial park has been established in Telmond, a growing community in central Israel where many South Africans have made their home. It features a park, specially planted trees, and artwork from South Africa that symbolizes the basic, yet profound sacrifices and actions made for the simple goal of a better future.

This living memorial, initiated by The South African Zionist Federation, JNF South Africa, and KKL-JNF, continues to grow as more names are researched and added, ensuring that their legacy of courage and dedication inspires future generations. Visitors can find the evolving list of honorees on this website.
