The initiative, made possible with the support of Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael-Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF) Communications Department, was developed in response to a need identified during a meeting at the college, where students expressed the demand for accessible outdoor study spaces beyond the campus buildings and library. Following a period of coordination between the various partners involved, part of the park was equipped with wireless internet infrastructure, and the new space was opened to the public.
The outdoor workspace is expected to serve approximately 3,000 students studying in Safed, as well as local residents, visitors, and professionals looking for a convenient location to hold meetings, work remotely, or study in a peaceful natural environment.
Avishai Hamuz Cohen, Manager of Emek HaTekhelet Park at KKL-JNF, said: "Our goal was to make this natural space more accessible by creating an environment that supports both learning and work while preserving the park's unique character. Providing wireless internet allows students and visitors to enjoy the park not only as a place for recreation, but also as a practical space for everyday activities."
