Covered wagon rides

A guided tour in a covered wagon hitched to a tractor, allowing visitors to get a close look at the birds and animals in the natural surroundings of Hula Lake Park. The tour takes place inside the park.
The tour lasts for approximately one hour (in season). Registration is required.

An experience on two wheels

Enjoy riding mountain bikes, tandem bikes, or family bikes, on the bicycle route around the perimeter of Hula Lake Park. Ride through the orchards and around the lake. The 8.5-kilometer route is easy and flat.
We recommend stopping at the scenic lookouts and hearing about the area from the guide on duty.

Waking up with the birds

A sunrise tour in the covered wagon provides the unforgettable experience of sunrise over Hula Lake Park, as nature awakens to a new day. The tour includes a short hike on foot, explanations, and scenic lookouts.
The tour lasts approximately two hours. Registration is required.

The park by night

A fascinating foray and memorable peek at the nightlife of Hula Lake Park and its secret places. With the help of night-vision equipment and experienced guides, we will look for animals, see where they live and sleep, listen to the special nighttime sounds of the valley, and hear fascinating stories and explanations. Sometimes, we can see animals just a few steps away from us!

In the dark of the night, surrounded by stars and the night’s natural sounds, we will see a natural gas well in Hula Lake Park, and toward the end, we will stretch out on mats around a campfire and enjoy a piping hot glass of tea, marshmallows, and light refreshments.

The tour lasts approximately two and a half hours. Registration is required.

Twilight tour

When day meets night, quiet descends upon the Hula Valley, the light softens, and the magic begins. The day-birds gather in their sleeping places with a last rush of wings and chirps. The creatures of the nighttime - swamp cats, owls, bats, and jackals with their special song, plus other unexpected visitors - awaken and prepare for the hunt.

This special guided tour, which takes place in a covered wagon, ends in a kumzitz with herbal tea and light refreshments.

The Botanical Gardens for Wetland and Water Plants

The Botanical Gardens at Hula Lake Park, which spread out over 30 dunam (approx. 7.5 acres), are considered to be the largest in Israel’s north.

A project of KKL-JNF, the purpose of the Botanical Gardens is to restore, rehabilitate, and preserve the special vegetation that once existed in the Hula wetlands.
Many of the plants have become rare since the wetlands were drained in the 1950’s. Some have been declared extinct.
Visitors to the park are invited to enjoy such plants as the European white water lily, the yellow water lily, and the flowering rush.

Entrance is free.

Opening hours

KKL-JNF’s Hula Lake Park is open to visitors at the following times:

Sunday through Thursday: 9:00 A.M.-4:00 P.M.

Visitors must leave the park by 5:00 P.M.

On weekends, holidays, and intermediate festival days, the park is open to visitors from 6:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

There is a fee for the suggested activities in Hula Lake Park.
