Come Volunteer at the KKL-JNF Photo Archives in Jerusalem

The archives need help in many different areas having to do with the care and organization of the pictures - things that need to be done in order to preserve the information about, and heritage of, KKL-JNF, the land of Israel and the State of Israel, for future generations.

General information
KKL-JNF's photo collection was established in 1920. Among other items in the archives, rare and unique items are preserved, and ever since its founding its materials have been used by researchers and professionals in various advertisements and exhibits in Israel and abroad.

What is there for volunteers to do?
We will be happy to add volunteers to the archive team who will assist in the following activities:
  • Scanning printed pictures - the scanning takes place in the archive's offices. Basic knowledge of computers is required. It's very simple to work the scanner.
  • Preserving old photos - separating printed photographs and putting buffer paper between them. No prior knowledge or training is required for this.
  • Browsing a historical file in the KKL-JNF photo archive. Photo: Naomi Hadari, courtesy of the Archive. Studying a historical file in the KKL-JNF photo archive. Photo: Naomi Hadari, courtesy of the Archive.
