As part of the new initiative, which was approved this week by the Keren Kayemeth Le-Israel – Jewish National Fund administration, KKL-JNF will Purchase high quality housing clusters in areas that were directly or indirectly impacted by the war, and rent them out to youth at controlled prices, while creating a supportive and long-term community framework. During the first stage, the housing clusters shall be built in seven localities: Yeruham, Dimona, Arad, Kiryat Shmona, Shlomi, Akko and Nahariya.
This move aligns with KKL-JNF's status as a leading national entity in the reconstruction of localities in the South and north and is part of its vision to strengthen the social, economic and communal resilience of the State of Israel.
"KKL-JNF is at the forefront of national reconstruction following the Swords of Iron War, not only in the reconstruction of infrastructure but also in the building of society and the community," notes the Chairwoman of KKL-JNF, Ifat Ovadia Luski. " This initiative expresses our deep commitment to revive the outlying areas and strengthen the social fabric. The graduates of the preparatory programs are the true asset of Israeli society, and they are the ones who will take this mission of revival upon themselves. This is Zionism in the field, not as a slogan but as a way of life."
Said initiative shall be launched initially as a pilot in the towns of the Eastern Negev and the Galilee, expanding into additional cities and towns in the future. The expansion program shall also include additional populations, which constitute a social and public engine in the outlying areas such as teachers, community services personnel and more.
