Just Before the Big Show – The 2023 Eurovision Starts Planted a Tree in Israel as Part of the Israel Calling Events

Celebrating 50 years of Israel's participation in the Eurovision, KKL-JNF held a special tree-planting ceremony at the Eurovision Hill in the Ben Shemen Forest with dozens of artists participating in this year's competition.

The 2023 Eurovision delegation arrived in Israel and participated in a tree-planting ceremony of the kind that is usually reserved for heads of state, ambassadors, diplomats and presidents. Now, the talented group of singers has joined the list. Later tonight (April 3), they will perform live at the "Hanger 11" hall in Tel Aviv in a special event that brings the Eurovision atmosphere to Israel.

KKL-JNF’s Chairwoman Yifat Ovadia Lusky: "KKL-JNF is proud to partake in connecting the State of Israel to influential cultural figures across Europe. The welcoming hospitality and the live show will be held here to mark 50 years of Israel’s participation in the contest, and 75 years of the nation’s independence. It will help us introduce the magnificent Israeli culture that we have built here, thanks to the diversity and beauty of Israeli society. I am confident that the visit to the Eurovision Forest and throughout Israel will inspire and instill a genuine connection to the state of Israel, among artists and delegations’ members.”

The event's founder and producer Tali Eshkoli: "After many months of preparation, I am excited to host the European representatives to the Eurovision in Israel. I'm happy to provide these artists with the opportunity to present their songs in front of potential voters and introduce them to our beautiful country."
