As He Nears the End of His Tenure, Ireland’s Ambassador to Israel Planted a Tree in Eshtaol

Toward the end of his tenure, Ireland's Ambassador to Israel, Kyle O'Sullivan, decided to plant a tree. The Ambassador arrived with two members of the ambassy's senior staff at the nursery, and took part in the Israeli tradition.
The ambassador said: "One of the peaks of my tenure in Israel is witnessing the attention that the people, and KKL-JNF in particular, devote to the environment and tree planting. There's a lot of talk about climate change, but what you have been doing here for a very long time is of significant contribution to the climate here and throughout the world."

Orna Tueg, head of the Irish Desk, said: "Tu BiShvat is KKL-JNF's holiday, and just as everyone plant trees throughout the country in celebration of the holiday, we planted with the Irish ambassador a tree which symbolizes the roots in Israel and helps making Israel greener."
