The Renovated Oron Shaul Overlook Has Opened in the Jordan Valley

Following a 100,000 ILS investment, and in collaboration with KKL-JNF, Israel's Ministry of Defense and the Jordan Valley Regional Council, the renovated Oron Shaul Overlook has opened at the Switzerland Forest above the Sea of the Galilee.

Among the participants were Oron's mother Zehava Shaul and members of the family, the head of the Jordan Valley Regional Council Idan Greenbaum, the council's CEO Mia Ventura, manager of KKL-JNF northern region Dr. Omri Boneh, deputy manager of the Families, Commemoration and Legacy Department at Israel's Ministry of Defense Herzl Shmuel and many others.

Zehava Shaul, Oron Shaul's mother: "it has been 8 years and we still have no glimmer of hope. Everyone says that they are doing all they can, but there are no results. I have sent my son to the army, and it is the state's responsibility to bring him back, I do not need to chase it. I hope that in the coming year, Oron will be back."

Idan Greenbaum, head of the Jordan Valley Regional Council: "the collaboration with KKL-JNF, the Ministry of Defense and the Council has made a proper appreciation happen. I wish us all that in the coming year, the boys will be back home."

Herzl Shmuel, deputy manager of the Families, Commemoration and Legacy Department at Israel's Ministry of Defense: "as soon as the request to renovate the site came up we did not hesitate, were glad to offer our support and wherever possible. The department accompanies the families and shares their pain."

Dr. Omri Boneh, manager of KKL-JNF northern region: "we are proud to celebrate the renovation of the overlook, which allows a connection to the legacy and the honor of the IDF soldiers. KKL-JNF will continue to embrace the families and I hope that soon we will witness the boys' return."
