This Friday: A Global Shabbat Celebration in KKL-JNF Forests

On October 22, join the Global Shabbat festivities in Israel, at a KKL-JNF forest near you!
 
The Education and Community Division of KKL-JNF, in partnership with The Shabbat Project, is excited to invite you in joining 1 million other people in celebrating one Shabbat together!

This Friday, on the 22nd of October 2021, [16 Heshvan 5782], from 10:00 – 14:00, KKL-JNF’s Jewish Heritage Department will be holding Global Shabbat activities in three forests around Israel.

What’s on the program?

  • Guided forest walks


Where?

  • Northern region - Blue Valley Park, Tzfat
  • Central region - Jerusalem Forest - note the different meeting points for the following times:
    10:00 AM: Mount Herzl’s upper entrance, in the civilian section next to the Mt. Herzl Museum 12:00 PM: Bnei Tzion recreation area by Mount Herzl
  • Southern region – Hamalachim Forest, at the observation tower


Please note:

  • Entrance is conditional on advance registration.

  • All activities will be held in accordance with Ministry of Health regulations.


Accessibility Arrangements

Blue Valley Park:
Blue Valley Park is partially accessible. The site has an accessible parking lot and accessible restrooms. The road to the activities area and the central event is accessible for people in wheelchairs.
For people with visual and hearing impediments: The central event is frontal with a musical operator including a sound system.
The visually impaired need to be accompanied due to the descent.

Jerusalem Forest:
The Global Shabbat event at the Bnei Tziyon recreation site and visit to Mount Herzl: The event at Mount Herzl and the Bnei Tziyon recreation site is partially accessible. Mount Herzl has an accessible parking lot and accessible restrooms, the Bnei Tziyon recreation site has a number of accessible parking spaces.
To get to the activities area and central event, it is necessary to ride in a car that will transport wheelchairs to the lower area of the recreation site, where the event will be taking place. The visually impaired need to be accompanied due to the descent.
For people with visual and hearing impediments: The central event is frontal with a musical operator including a sound system.

Hamalachim Forest – Observation Tower Recreation Site:
Hamalachim Forest is partially accessible. The site has an accessible parking lot and accessible restrooms. The way to the activities area and the central event is accessible for people in wheelchairs.
The trail to Hirbet Kroa is not accessible for wheelchairs.
For people with visual and hearing impediments: The central event is frontal with a musical operator including a sound system. Handicapped people need to be accompanied.
