KKL-JNF employees and foresters, along with KKL-JNF’s firefighting network, remind the general public that during the entire year, extra care should always be taken as regards everything related to lighting fires in the forests, and to stringently follow the rules.
KKL-JNF’s Rami Zaritzski, who is responsible for protecting Israel’s forests from fires both during times of emergency and also during times of relative calm: “I would like to emphatically emphasize the importance of following all the rules related to being cautious about fires. Every year, thousands of acres of forests and natural woodlands go up in flames due to the negligence of holiday vacationers, hikers and visitors to KKL-JNF’s forests. We call on the general public not to light bonfires in forests and woodlands.”
Lighting fires in KKL-JNF’s parks and forests endangers the public and the trees, along with the fauna and flora, who are the permanent residents of these areas!
KKL-JNF wishes a happy, healthy and safe holiday to all of Israel, and looks forward to a complete return to routine daily life as soon as possible.
