On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, the Israel-Latin America Chamber of Commerce held a special event on Thursday, January 21st at the Hotel Dan in Tel Aviv. KKL-JNF was honored for its social and ecological activities for the State of Israel.
Representatives of all Latin American embassies and consulates in Israel attended the event, as well as eminent leaders who support and promote the Israeli industry and export.
Present at the event was the Minister of Tourism Yariv Levin, who praised the Chamber of Commerce for its achievements in promoting Israeli export to the Latin American continent. Dani Yatom, the former Head of the Mossad, and Sharren Haskel, an MK from the Likud Party, took part in the event as well.
On behalf of KKL-JNF, two of its vice Chairpersons were present: Nisan Cialic and Hernan Felman, who were there to receive an award from the Chamber of Commerce.
Other KKL-JNF delegates were: Land Assembly Director Alex Hefetz; Legal Advisor Shay Marcus; Latin American Department Director Ariel Goldgewicht and department coordinator Dalit Cohen.
Following some pleasant cocktails, the doors of the conference hall were opened, and the awards ceremony for the development and promotion of the State of Israel commenced.
The President of the Israel-Latin America Chamber of Commerce welcomed the public and thanked all the participants. Other guest speakers were the Ambassador of Honduras, Mr. Jose Barahona, representing the Latin American Embassies, and Deputy Director General and Head of the Economic Affairs Division Ms. Yaffa Ben-Ari. There was a consensus in their respective speeches about the business opportunities for the Israeli companies abroad, particularly with the Pacific countries, with which the government has decided to strengthen the ties, as part of the business agreement between USA and Panama.
Awards were presented to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Defense Bureau in recognition of its economic research; to the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute; and to Israeli companies such as the Naandanjain Irrigation Company, the Samy Katsav Group, Elbit Systems- for its achievements in the military Industry, and to UBIKT as a developer of social transport applications.
Finally, Mr. Hernan Felman accepted the award on behalf of KKL-JNF for its social and ecological work for the State of Israel.
The event came to a lively conclusion with a splendid Tango show, complete with professional dancers and live music.
