Sayeret Shaked Park

The 6,000-dunam Sayeret Shaked Park is located in the Nahal Ofakim Valley. KKL-JNF operates a research station there to formulate the best agricultural management methods for continued planting and grazing in the Negev. A reconstructed railway bridge built completely of iron during the days of the British Mandate crosses Nahal Ofakim in the forest. Next to the bridge is a monument commemorating the fallen soldiers of the Shaked reconnaissance unit.

Near the bridge, under the shade of the trees, are small, secluded recreation areas with picnic tables.

Directions: Enter at the main entrance to Ofakim (Herzl Street, Route 2335). Cross the city southward on Route 2335 that leads to the Hatzerim Air Force Base. From the southern end of the city, drive south for another 2 km and turn left (east), following the signs to SayeretShaked Park.
