HaMeginim Forest

HaMeginim Forest is the main section of the Gezer-Nachshon forests. The forest covers about 8,000 dunams in the western Judean lowlands - an area of low hills of soft, white chalkstone. The main road in the forest is almost all paved and suitable for all vehicles. Along the road and in various parts of the forest there are monuments commemorating army units and individual fighters who fell in Israel's military campaigns. KKL-JNF has established recreational sites between the entrance to the forest and the Mishever LeTikva Monument.

Directions: The access road to HaMeginim Forest is about half a km south of the entrance to Karmei Yosef (Route 44, between Km markers 12 and 13).
Asaf Asulin Recreation Area – a recreation area next to a monument commemorating Asaf Asulin. Next to it is the Mishever LeTikva ("From Crisis to Hope") Monument - an impressive monument in memory of 436 members of Gahal (conscripts from abroad), most of them Holocaust survivors who immigrated to Israel during the War of Independence and fell in battle. The monument consists of large rocks clustered around an olive tree. KKL-JNF put a recreation area and an open-air theater next to the monument.
