Meet a KKL-JNF volunteer in the Western Galilee - Kabri

Sasha retired from his KKL-JNF job in the Western Galilee a decade ago and since then he has been volunteering on a daily basis in Kabri, doing all kinds of work and helping anyone who need it.
Sasha Wohl was born in 1940 in Ukraine, where he held various jobs in metalworking and electronics and worked with electricity. Sasha also served in the Russian Army in Lvov and worked in a factory that manufactured airplanes. He emigrated to Israel with his family in 1995, and they made their home in the city of Maalot.

After he came to Israel, Sasha got a job with KKL-JNF in the Western Galilee region, doing all kinds of work with his hands: He built saws, fixed tools, made tables, benches, trailers, shelters, and everything that was needed for activities in the region.

Sasha is gifted with a unique creative ability and hands of gold. He decorated the yard of the KKL-JNF's offices in Kabri with metal statues made of recycled materials from the metalwork shop. His particular favorites are the statues of animals that smile at those who enter: a frog, cat, dog, doves of peace and even a monkey riding a bicycle.

Sasha is an inseparable part of the KKL-JNF's operations unit in Kabri. Over the years, he has persevered in his volunteer work on the site, and finds a solution to every problem that is referred to him. He has the desire to help everyone in anything, and in turn, the unit's employees feel great warmth and admiration for him. That is how the site in Kabri has benefited from Sasha's contributions as a volunteer, and Sasha has received from the unit both encouragement and love!

Sasha is married to Faina, and has two children and five grandchildren. Even in the hours that he spends at home, he cannot sit still doing nothing, so to busy himself he built a dovecote in which he raises doves in the beautiful yard he built next to his house.

KKL-JNF thanks Sasha for his contribution to its activities, and wishes him good health, enjoyment from his family, and a long life.
