Hurvat Beit Itab (Beit Itab Ruins)
Location: American Independence Park, Jerusalem Mountains.

Description: An easy walk and a climb to the ruin and at the summit a viewing deck, with one of the most beautiful views in the Jerusalem Mountains. From here you can look around you at the Hebron Mountains, the Jerusalem Mountains, the Judean plain and the coastal plain. The ruin is built on Crusader foundations, built from beautiful worked stones. For hundreds of years afterwards additional buildings were added to the ruin, and their ruins are distributed throughout the site. Ein Hod spring flows at the foot of the ruin, and there are fruit trees around it.

Directions: A walking path marked in red leaves the Nes Harim picnic site, about 500 m east of the entrance to Moshav Nes Harim. The path is about 1.5 km (one way). The ruin can also be reached on the path marked in black, which forks from the “red” path.
