Three iconic KKL-JNF Blue Boxes were recently discovered in what was previously a Jewish school in Kuldiga, Latvia. They were apparently hidden there by students who were eventually killed during the Holocaust.

Due to the recent stormy weather in Israel and the strong winds Haplorhus peruviana, a Peruvian tree in the Ilanot Botanical Garden was uprooted. It is a rare tree, the only one of its kind in Israel, and it is on the IUCN endangered species list.
