Five years ago, a sixteen-year old named Daniel Viflic was killed when a group of Arab terrorists fired an anti-tank missile at a school bus. On Wednesday, June 15, a memorial site created by KKL-JNF in his memory was inaugurated next to Kibbutz Nahal Oz, where he was killed.

Thanks to the help of its supporters throughout the world, KKL-JNF is an integral part of daily life in Israel's Arava region, involved in everything from agricultural R&D, tourism and infrastructure works to environmental projects such as restoring the indigenous acacia trees to this region. Without KKL-JNF’s many and diverse projects in the Arava, living here and earning a livelihood would not be a feasible option.
