KKL-JNF will join the initiative of the residents who live next to the Gaza Strip, led by Ofir Leibowitz from Kfar Aza, and will hold a week of tree planting events in the Gaza border communities as of Friday.

The purpose of the events that will take place in response to the terror attacks of Hamas on Israel is to strengthen the local residents, who live in constant danger to their lives and livelihood. KKL-JNF will provide thousands of tree seedlings that will be distributed to the residents and planted by them at the various events.

The current wave of kite terror has been a matter of concern for KKL-JNF since it began about two months ago. KKL-JNF Southern Region field workers and firefighters are all on call to minimize the damage caused by the kite terror to the people living on the Gaza border, the forests and agricultural fields.

KKL-JNF firefighters work in full cooperation with the National Fire and Rescue Authority, the IDF and the Israel Police, thanks to fire trucks that work around the clock, lookouts, and scouts in the field who update the firefighting teams in order to prevent or minimize the damage to Israeli territory.

KKL-JNF World Chairman Danny Atar said that “the damage caused to KKL-JNF forests and agricultural fields is unprecedented. We have no intention of capitulating to Hamas, who will pay for their criminal deeds not only against the citizens of Israel, but also against nature and the environment. We join hands with the residents who live on the Gaza border and the campaign we are launching has a clear message – we live here, are strong and intend to grow, and we are more united and powerful than ever.”
