The Resh Lakish and Hoshaya cycle paths in northern Israel cross the Tzippori Forest and cycle through natural woodland amidst pine forests, olive groves and magnificent oak trees. These new trails are a welcome addition to the network of cycle paths that KKL-JNF is developing throughout the length and breadth of Israel, with the help of its Friends worldwide.

The Carmel Hills soar above the Mediterranean Sea, between Caesarea in the south and Haifa in the north. In Dcember 2010 a terrible wildfire became a National Tragedy. KKL-JNF Friends in Israel and worldwide lend a hand to making the Carmel green once again.

KKL-JNF started planting the Shahariya Forest in 1956. The Jewish community of Los Angeles raised funds for the project, and in honor of their contribution, the northern part of the forest was named Hamalachim Forest, which means the Angels Forest, true to the meaning city's name in Spanish – City of Angels. The forest offers many hidden treasures. The development of the forest and park has been made possible thanks to friends of KKL-JNF in the USA, Australia and Germany.

The worst blizzard in twenty-two years hit Israel: great quantities of snow left highways blocked, cities besieged and people stranded. An unusual amount of rain and hail fell in central and southern Israel, which caused extensive flooding. KKL-JNF assisted rescue teams all over Israel and publicized warnings not to enter the forests due to the danger of falling trees.

Trees, like all living things, are born and eventually die.  KKL-JNF, as guardians of Israel's forests, ensure that new trees continue to flourish. At the same time, it brings the forests closer to the people, by making them accessible for everyone, including people with disabilities.

The works in Jerusalem Park are still in progress, but meanwhile, the Emek Refaim Valley section of the park has already been enlarged. Jerusalem Park is being developed thanks to the support of friends of KKL-JNF in the USA, France, Australia and Germany. The Refaim Valley Park is supported by friends of KKL France.

As part of its policy to promote the connection between city dwellers and nature spots that are close by, KKL-JNF dedicated a new 4.8 km. promenade in the city of Yokne'am. The promenade creates a line of contact between the city and Elyakim Forest.

KKL-JNF World Chairman Efi Stenzler writes about the world energy crisis, its causes and dangers. He notes that in order to help realize the Israeli government's goal of reaching 10% renewable energy out of the total energy production in the country by 2020, KKL-JNF supports research and ventures that investigate the promotion of renewable energy.
