These days, 68 students of the 14th Class reside in the Educational Center, belonging to all Jewish varieties and denominations, and who comprise a very unique human mosaic in the Israeli landscape. In addition, students from the "Shibolim" program study in the Educational Center for the participation of youth with disabilities in the pre-military preparatory school. In previous years, students with cerebral palsy, students with visual and hearing impairments, students on the autistic spectrum and more studied in this program.
Rabbi Yoav Andy – The Head of the Educational Center for Leadership in Hannaton, explains that the pre military preparatory school in Hannaton was established in 2012 as a co-ed educational center in the spirit of traditional Judaism and with an affinity to the Masorti Movement, out of an understanding that the state of Israel is required to deal with questions of identity, and of definition and essence, as existential questions alongside the commitment to significant service in the IDF and command therein: "I welcome our partners in KKL-JNF and in the Council of Pre-Military Preparatory Programs for the establishment of the new and renewed campus in Hannaton. These young men and women – with ambitions to become men and women of action during their lives anywhere they may be – undergo throughout the year studies, life in a group, volunteering in over 15 locations throughout the Galilee, three weeks in the field, 6 workshops for familiarization with Israeli society, Jewish, Zionist and humanist studies. I am full of hope that they understand that it is their turn to shape Israeli society, and that they become a community of partners for the fulfillment of dreams. They are our future."
Ofer Brookstein – The Water and Land Engineer in the Northern Region at KKL-JNF, which is a partner in the project: "The new campus in Hannaton is more than merely a physical structure. It is infrastructure that is intended to connect between people, identities and different audiences, and to create a space that allows for meetings, dialogue and unity. It should not be taken for granted that a pre military preparatory school is leading such a large-scale project, which combines an educational vision with complex planning and execution. KKL-JNF is proud to be a partner in the establishment of the structure, but eventually – the people who will live, learn and operate here will be those who give it true meaning."
