KKL-JNF Chairwoman Opened the Tu BiShvat Celebrations by Inaugurating a Special Care Greenhouse at the Perach Community Village

Tu BiShvat is a holiday for the trees, and for the residents of the Perach ("Flower") community village in Rosh HaAyin.
A Special Care Greenhouse was inaugurated today at the Perach Community Village at the presence of KKL-JNF Chairwoman Ifat Ovadia-Luski. Also present were the Mayor of Rosh HaAyin Shalom Ben Moshe and the city's Chair Ilan Harari, KKL-JNF's Co-chairman Yitzhak Vaknin, and members of the KKL-JNF Board Danny Avidor and David Ben-Tzion who also serves as Deputy Chair of the Shomron Regional Council. Other participants were the CEO of the Perach Network Rabbi Moshe Stein and the Manager of the Village Moshe Saville, who planted the first plants with the residents.
 
The greenhouse will be cared for by the village residents, with help from the staff in order to develop the creation and giving abilities of the rehabilitated population.
 
KKL-JNF Chairwoman Ifat Ovadia-Luski said: "Just as tree planting is meant to benefit others and teaches the values of persistence, the love of the land and hope for the future, the Perach Community Village teaches the values of giving, grace, persistence, a belief in human spirit and hope for the residents – people with disabilities. With great devotion, you are planting hope for a better future and society."
 
Rabbi Moshe Stein, CEO of the Perach Network, said: "We consider planting a form of giving. The ability to plant a tree mean caring for the environment and society. I thank Ifat for accepting our invitation of celebrate Tu Bishvat and inaugurate the greenhouse."
 
The Manager of the village, Moshe Saville, summarized by saying: "We consider it a great honor that Ifat chose to open the holiday celebration in a facility for people with disabilities – it is a meaningful statement for us."
