David Karon Scenic Lookout (Mitzpor David Karon)
Location: Haruvit Forest, near Kfar Menahem.

Description: The observation deck above Hurvat Dimdumit (Khirbet Damdam) overlooks Kibbutz Kfar Menahem and the expanses of the coastal plain from Ashkelon to Rishon Lezion. The villages of the Elah Valley, Britannia Park, Gush Etzion and the Hebron Mountain ridge can be seen to the east. Ancient quarries and a few fruit trees remain at the site. The scenic lookout commemorates Lieutenant Colonel David Karon, a member of Kibbutz Kfar Menahem and founder of the Intelligence 10 Unit. The site is also a memorial to the unit’s fallen soldiers.

Directions: Enter Haruvit Forest from the Re’em Junction–Tel Azeka Junction road (Route 383), 2 km to the east of the entrance to Kfar Menahem. Drive south for 3.5 km on the paved road that follows the forest and turn right parallel to the fence of the Tzafit power station. Turn right after the power station on a dirt road that reaches the scenic lookout after 800 meters.
