The planting of Hulda Forest, the oldest of the KKL-JNF forests, began in 1908. An agricultural farm was established there, and young Jews were trained to work the land in its fields. In 1909, Herzl House was built on the farm – a large and beautiful home where the farm manager and the workers lived. A swimming pool was built in the yard of the house, the remains of which are still visible today. Hulda Farm is known for the heroic fighting of its people, who faced down thousands of rioters in the violent events of 1929. KKL-JNF prepared recreation areas with water and restrooms around Herzl House.
Directions: From the Sorek Interchange, drive east on Route 3 to Hulda Junction. Turn west onto Route 411 and drive about 2 km to the entrance to the forest.
