Tzora (President’s) Forest

KKL-JNF has constructed many recreation areas along the Sculpture Trail, which runs through the entire length of the forest located between Route 44 and the Nahal Sorek Valley in the area of Kibbutz Tzora. One of them, HaSoher recreation area, which is at the edge of the forest closest to Kibbutz Tzora, is disabled-accessible. Towering over the heart of the forest is Tel Tzora, identified as the biblical Tzora, the city of Samson. The trail is decorated with 37 environmental sculptures, made out of iron and local stone.
Sophie Recreation Area - a small and intimate recreation area on the outskirts of the Tzora Forest, with picnic tables shaded by fig trees as well as barbecue facilities. Access is from Route 44. Turn towards Moshav Tarom, but do not enter it; rather, right next to the gas station turn right immediately onto a dirt road marked in black (one of the entrances to the Tzora Forest) and from there turn left to the recreation area.

Directions: A. From Route 44, about two km from the Shimshon Junction, at the northern end of the Sculpture Trail. B. From the road leading to Kibbutz Tzora and the Deir Rafat Monastery (Route 3835), at the southern end of the Sculpture Trail.
